Project Angel Heart 2020

That’s why Project Angel Heart prepares and delivers medically tailored meals to people living with life-threatening illnesses. Each week, our professional chefs and registered dietitian prepare thousands of delicious meals, from scratch, and tailor them to meet the medical and dietary needs of those who are ill.

Project Angel Heart was founded in 1991 to address a major challenge for Coloradans who are ill: getting the nutrition they need to get stronger, heal, and remain at home. Many are too sick to get to the grocery store or unable to cook for themselves. Others find they have to choose whether to buy food or medication to make ends meet.

Volunteers package and deliver each meal, free of charge, to neighbors living with cancer, HIV/AIDS, kidney/heart/lung disease, and other illnesses. In 2019, we will prepare and deliver nearly 500,000 nutritious meals to 3,000 critically ill neighbors in Denver and Colorado Springs. Read More

MANNA Foodbank 2020

MANNA FoodBank was founded in 1982 by the Hunger Awareness Group in Asheville, North Carolina. Food distribution began in 1983 from donated space in the basement of Eliada Home for Children. The following year, MANNA distributed 42,000 pounds of food to 16 agencies. Now, MANNA distributes more than 42,000 pounds of food…every day of the year.

The founders of MANNA FoodBank had a clear vision: that the people of Western North Carolina can go to work or look for work, go to school, play, worship, and sleep without the burden of hunger. Since MANNA’s first food distribution in 1983, this has been the focus of our daily work. Our mission is to involve, educate, and unite people in the work of ending hunger in Western North Carolina, and our vision is a hunger-free WNC.

NOW…

MANNA is currently moving over 50,000 pounds of food each day of the year through a partner network of over 200 agencies, stretching every resource to meet the growing need for food across our 16-county region of WNC. Read More

Let’s Choose Love 2020

Continuum co-founder Wendy White launched Let’s Choose Love in June 2020. The social movement provides a forum for sharing ideas, resources, new philosophies and stories she hopes will challenge, stretch and inspire us to expand our thinking and possibilities for the future. Albert Einstein said, “We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.” We like to say that if we cannot envision it, we cannot create it. Let’s Choose Love challenges all of us to envision and focus on what we want to create. If we want more love, joy, peace and passion within ourselves and the world, what does that look like and what is our first step in bringing it to light? All are invited to be a part.
